been a while since i posted an update.
was unable to get the exhaust installed because the nuts are pretty much cemented in and someone had destroyed the catalytic converter flange in an attempt to fix the leak in the past, in the process of trying to get them off i got to hear just how messed up the catalytic converter is. so thats on hold. i swear this list gets longer every time i think about what i have left to do

And now for the actual last piece of the box puzzle

Walker P/N #15827, Federal Emissions compliant Catalytic converter. so shiny, so clean, so expensive, will take comparison pics with the 222k mile one once i get it off the truck, probably this Wednesday.

i dont know who, but some c&^%sucker in florida about 10 years ago was welding exhaust bolts together, f that guy.

After 5 hours on my back underneath the rig i got it out, had to take a sawzall to the flange between the converter and muffler, and i've got all new stuff to go back into it with tomorrow. Converter was absolutely toasted, the catalyst material was broke in several places and oriented in several ways.

one casualty of this project

RIP My Phones Camera lense, you can see the effect in the pic that looks like it was taken in the late 70s.
and yes, i did put axle grease on anything that contacts the frame or anything that may need to come off later, Lucas Red n Tacky ftw.
And yes there is a tailpipe installed, cant see it because of the cracked lense in the second to last pic.

God this thing drives like any chevy truck i've ever driven,
that is to say, it drives like brand new minus the steering slop. It hauls ***** fast with the proper backpressure, and the Dynomax kit sounds great, have to thank Christine for the idea from their build thread.

Little Fixes:
Reattached Rearview mirror with Structural Adhesive, due to the 2 and a half foot crack in the windshield this was a "temporary" fix until i get it replaced.

Found a vacuum line unhooked, i believe it goes to the vacuum reservoir, Plugged it with a leftover camshaft bolt to worry about later, The idle is smoother then the family runabout, a GMC Terrain with an Inline 4 and it no longer smells like its running rich, if i knew where my scanner was i'd check my fuel trims again as the last time i checked them they were +14% combined STLT or thereabouts.
And Replaced the belt and Tensioner, i believe i got the wrong length belt as the tensioner belt wear indicator is slightly out of range, but most of the squealing is gone, just a little bit at startup
Ordered a rear bumper about 7 months after i was originally going to

Will get one when i have some time in the daylight, Its on the straight side of the vacuum T thats over the brake booster, leading into the Drivers fender, to my knowledge it goes to the vacuum ball in the fender, and that Vac T also supplies 4WD front axle vacuum for 4 button NV236 Equipped Trucks. In addition to that i believe that vacuum ball is responsible for preventing instantaneous pressure loss at the vacuum hookup, smooths out controls and prevents them from possibly interfering with the motors operation, its also why the vacuum T is a check valve.
