I looked it up in my 99 Service Manual and according to the pictures and instructions, you remove the original hinges by breaking the welds with a chisel. Then you use the weld marks to create pilot holes for drilling out to 13mm that will be for the bolts that attach the replacement hinges.

If the parts are still available, I'm guessing they would come in a kit consisting of the hinge, the bolts, nuts and backing plate.

If you are interested, I could scan this for you and post it here.

would appreciate the manual if you could. and Dorman makes repalcement hinge sets.

You are very welcome. But I wouldn't be so fast to expect it to be simple until you have done it!

If I read it correctly, you might have to take the dash cover out for front hinge replacements which apparently is a pretty arduous task in itself.

probably has to do with getting the backing plates in, which i can do from underneath the hush panel iirc
