Once again I just used hands tools; then torque wrench when finishing it off. It only took forever due to shipping times and weather.
Still, nicely done!

Thanks. Happy to do things using basic tools and rigged stuff instead of relying on luxury things.

Got the transmission and transfer case hooked back up. I also drained the rear differential fluid to change it. Gonna fill all fluids up tomorrow. Gave those gasket makers plenty of time to cure for sure. Next is to put the center console back together and put the skid plates back on and he'll be ready to go. Can't wait to drive again!

Made myself a skid plate for under the front bumper. I still need to make a couple more brackets for it before I'm confident bashing it into rocks, but at least it's attached.

Default Well, this is what I'm doing:

Well, this is what I'm doing: the 'check engine' icon light is on and Torque Pro says it is the clutch safety switch for the ignition at fault. The '99 Blazer since I've had it, has always started without depressing the clutch and I am happy with that, but I would like the warning light to shut up.
With great difficulty (I'm 82), I can see that the switch rides on the clutch pushrod, but that the electrical connection is unplugged. My plan is to either remove the switch and permanently make it 'on'', or if that's not do-able, just short the plug connector to permanently 'on'.
Any immediate reactions to that plan?

I would just short the connector, since I don't care for that "feature". Be advised that, if you have cruise control, it won't work. That may or may not be an issue for you.

I'm not sure if having the clutch "depressed" will affect any other engine functions. Maybe some others can offer their input.
