by any chance was it lowered at any point? I don't see why someone would go through all the trouble to weld that like that, because the front differential and axle supposed to be held on by just a few bolts to brackets

I cant see why the hell someone would weld that????????? The diff has like 2 bolts on each end for where it mounts to the frame and then I think like 1 or 2 more that go through the ears on the diff.

Honestly bro it sounds like your truck is more of just a daily driver, do you even use your 4x4? If I was in your shoes i would just pull the diff out and the front driveline and roll it as a 2wd truck. It will save you an *** load of money. The 4x4 is not something that is "needed" for the truck to function correctly its just an addition that comes in handy. Get what Im saying?

yea I agree if you don't go offroad or drive in the snow I would just say screw the 4wd and pull the whole front diff out

yeah ..... I am betting he is near Duluth MN because he said something about going over the bumps in Duluth MN.

ditch the sway bar

SAS (straight axle swap) with a high pinion D30 from a Jeep and coilovers.

and half a day with some buddies to fix the coolant leak.
