Now, with that said and done, Get the Grabbers! they are good tires, especially if you are on a Budget! I would say that they do just as good as BFG's in most situations... just remeber, although they are good tires, they aren't mud tires. They don't self clean as well as an MT. ..

lol... im all for trying to "church" things up....however, i think there are some comparisons that cannot be "churched" up...lol The grabbers are good tires. . . . . no arguments there..


also, BF Goodrich is no longer an independent company. The exited the tire business in 1988. Sold the name and designs to Michelin! so BFG Tiresare actually corporately owned by Michelin.

Hello all, Signed up only to give a warning on these tires. I bought these just over a year ago from tirerack size 255/70/r16 for my 4x4 and thought as you all seem to. Everyone who looked at them wanted to know more, where to get them how much, are they as good as they look. I answered enthusiastically to all questions....at the time. As of 5/5/2008 they are off the truck. First 25,000 miles of wear seemed great, great traction good look, not too loud for a 4x4. But watch out. Past that 25-30 thousand mile mark these tires went south. terrible wear, noise, constant balancing, loss of traction on wet roads. As for the warranty... you better have reciepts to prove you rotated them(so much for us backyard guys that do it ourselves), and if youhave that you better be able to pull reciepts to prove they were balanced too and I assume proof of proper allingnment but I never got that far. I rotated every 3- 4 thousand miles and wound up with a wopping 42,000 miles on these before they were just too unsafe to drive. I will never buy these again, and that is a giant flip flop from the first half year that I owned them. I thought I had found the tire I would buy for the rest of my life, but what I really found was another disappointment wrapped up in a pretty package. Oh, by the way if you do have these watch your pressure, they love to wear the centers out real fast with any decent pressure setting (at the end of the line to save tread I had to run these 44psi tires at 33-34psi or they would not have lasted this long, I usually set them around 36-38 orI would bounce out ofthe lane or slide around curves at the full 44psi). Just my 2 cents but watch... the burnt hand usually knows best. Jay

Your experience just convinces me to buy the lifetime rotation and balancing when I get the tires mounted.

 

I am going to agree with WolfPack. I know a couple of guys that have over 50,000 on theirs and they still are in good shape. What vehicle did you have them installed on?What size were they? We need more info other than the fact that you had a bad experience.And as far as the warranty goes, you have to show reciepts and proof for any thing that has a warranty. Its just like the warranty on your car. And it says on the warranty card that you must have proof of rotating them, so there should be know big suprise there. And if you said that you got 40,000 miles out of them, they weren't going to replace them for you with brand new tires. They were only going to give you a percentage of the cost of a new tire minus the amount of tread that you used. So all in all you were prob only out maybe 15 to maybe 20 bucks per tire if that since you did get over 40,000 miles. Always read the fine print.

Well just trying to save someone from disappointment. Trust tirerack. I'm sure that a business out to sell tires to consumers would never lead anyone astray by not posting negative comments about a product they sell. But then it seems to me I saw a couple negative feedbacks on these very tires and i'll be damned if it isn't listed on the reviews now.Truck: 2001 sport trac (i know the ford killed the tires) 255/70/r16 size rotated every 3-4 thousand religiously. Bought the unlimited balance and alignment and used it quite often unless the line was three hours long, then I did it (rotation)myself. By the way I am a general tire fan and had run the grabber ston my pickup with more than the warranty mileage each time. You earned your money spend it how you wish.
